These products are no longer actively supported by Microsoft. No further development will take place on these products and security updates are no longer issued. It is highly recommended that you upgrade to Windows 10, 8, or 7.
If you want to change the product key because of Microsoft's key block beginning in June, 2007, you should first:
To change the key (you do need administrative rights to complete this procedure), follow the Use the Activation Wizard directions found on this page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328874. You can ignore step 13 (Install Windows XP SP1 or a later version of Windows XP).
