Adobe Acrobat - Getting Started (UW-Madison)

Adobe Acrobat is a tool for PDF file viewing, editing, and creation. This page provides basic information on where to download Adobe Acrobat, and a list of resources on Acrobat both online and at UW-Madison.

Eligibility, Install, and Sign In

Faculty and staff can download Acrobat by following the directions in Adobe Creative Cloud - Logging in with Your UW-Madison Account.

Other paid UW positions are also eligible. See the full eligibility list here - UW System Eligibility for Adobe Creative Cloud.

Students do NOT automatically get access to Acrobat. If you need access to Acrobat, please check our student program page - Adobe Creative Cloud - Student Subscription FAQ

Acrobat is part of Creative Cloud and we strongly recommend installing and launching it through the Creative Cloud app. You can check the download instructions on our login and download page - Adobe Creative Cloud - Logging in with Your UW-Madison Account

Adobe Acrobat has been licensed by the UW-System for use by faculty and staff on both UW- and personally-owned devices, as well as those with UW-owned machines provisioned with Shared Device Licensing. Please check with your local IT staff to see if they can install Adobe Acrobat for you or if there are departmental policies on use and support of Adobe products.
