Microsoft Powerpoint - Getting Started (UW-Madison)

Microsoft Powerpoint is software for creating slides and delivering presentations. It can also be used to record audio your presentation and export video files to use as online lectures. This page provides basic information on where to download Microsoft Powerpoint, and a list of resources on Powerpoint both online and at UW-Madison.


As of July 2015 students, faculty, and staff at UW Madison are eligible to download and install the Microsoft Office suite on up to 5 personal computers at no additional cost. The license includes the full suite of software - Office 2016 for PCs and Office 2016 for Mac. The Office 2016 package will work on Windows 7, 8, and 10, and the Mac version will work on OSX 10.10 and later.
