ECMS - Reinstalling the ImageNow Printer
Note: As this process requires both administrative access to the workstation and edits to the Windows Registry, it is recommended that Departmental IT staff assist in the process outlined below.
Log into the workstation as a local administrator.
Turn off UAC.
Open Devices and Printers from the Windows Start Menu. Locate and right-click the ImageNow Printer, then choose Remove Device.
Restart the computer.
Open Regedit. Navigate to the following location:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers
and verify that the folder ImageNow Printer no longer exists. If it does, delete it.
Download SetupImageNowPrinter.exe.renamed. Remove the ".renamed" from the end of the file name, and then move the file to the following location:
- [drive]:\<Program Files (x86)> or <Program Files>\ImageNow\printer\setup
Right click the file (SetupImageNowprinter.exe) and Run as administrator.
Open Regedit and navigate to the following location:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers\ImageNow Printer\PrinterDriverData
Create a string value called Scripting File. Set the value to:
- [drive]:\<Program Files> or <Program Files (x86)>\<ImageNow> or <ImageNow7>\etc\inowprint.ini
Restart the computer.
The printer should now be installed, but further configuration may be required. See ECMS - Configuring the ImageNow Printer and Tiff Compression Formats
