This document provides access to a script that can help resolve installation problems experienced by users of Adobe Creative Suite CS3, CS4, CS5, CS5.5, CS6, and Creative Cloud.
After installing Adobe Creative Suite or Creative Cloud, and activating the 30-day free trial, the software fails to recognize the serial number when attempting to activate the software again. This issue seems to affect software installations activated with serial numbers that are used for multiple machines (such as volume-licensed UW-owned machines). The tool can also clean up install records for any pre-release (beta) installations of these products.
Error message states "the machine could not get the expiration info" or "the serial number has been activated too many times."
This issue can be resolved by un-installing the software, running the Adobe Cleaner script, and then reinstalling the software.
Download instructions and additional information can be found at:
"You may have limited access to Adobe apps or services."
Clicking the "Get help" link on the warning takes one to https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/limited_access_repair_tool.html?mv=product&mv2=accc#, where one may download the "Repair Tool". Running this tool removes the limited access problem, so that Acrobat & Final Cut Pro status goes from "Start Trial" in the Creative Cloud menu to "Open".
