WiscWeb - Using the UW Social Share Plugin

The UW Social Share plugin allows a site to activate the ability to share specific posts from your site out to various social media sites, as well as generate an email from the post as well.

In this document:

Purpose and use

If you have wanted the ability for people to be able to easily share posts from your site to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, or even to easily email a post, the UW Social Share Plugin will give you that option now.

Activating the Social Share plugin

This plugin can be activated by a site administrator to make these options available. You can learn more about self-service plugin activation at: WiscWeb - Self service plugin activation / deactivation.

Using the Social Share plugin

Once the plugin is enabled, you will need to identify which Share options you want to make available. To do this, hover your mouse over the Settings menu option on the left, and click on Social Share.

Once in the plugin settings, place a check mark in the options you want to make active and then click Save Changes at the bottom of the screen.

Now that the settings are applied for the UWSocial Share plugin, any posts that you have created as well as you create in the future will have icon options at the bottom of each that will allow users to share that post via the choices you had made earlier.
