Windows/Mac - How to Check the System Information

This document explains how users can check the amount of RAM installed and other system information details, such as the processor speed.

Windows 8/10

Option 1:

Windows 8/10: From the start screen search for "msinfo32"

Option 2:

  1. From the Start screen, type This PC.
  2. Right click (or tap and hold) This PC, and click properties.

  3. System information will be displayed as shown:

Windows 7 & Vista

  1. From the Start menu, right-click Computer, then select Properties .

    Click Start, right click on Computer, and select Properties.

  2. System information will be displayed as shown:

Windows XP

  1. From the desktop or the Start menu, right-click My Computer, then select Properties .

    Click Start, right click on My Computer, and select Properties.

  2. System information will be displayed as shown:

Mac OS X

  1. Click the Apple icon in the top left, and select About This Mac.

    Click Apple, then About This Mac.

  2. For more advanced details click More Info... in the About This Macwindow.

    Click More Info.

  3. System information will be displayed as shown:
