A quick guide on TLC laptop imaging.

Apple MacBook AIR Imaging Instructions

An imaging hub is located at each desk with (2) Ethernet cables and (2) Apple Ethernet Adaptors available for imaging. You can image multiple laptops at the same time.

Remove the MacBook from its case and plug in the power and Apple Ethernet Adaptor cables. They are on opposite sides.

Power on the MacBook and immediately press and hold the N key.

This screen will show when the image starts

Within 30 seconds, the screen should change to the Apple logo and globe.

A DoIT screen will load and the imaging process starts.

The process takes about an hour to complete, there will be several restarts during this time, as that is normal and expected.

When completed there will be a screen where you will be asked to click ‘Finish’

Dell Latitude Imaging Instructions

Remove the Dell laptop from its case and Plug in thepower cord (left), Plug in the network cable (right)

Push power button to start laptop

On boot (when the Dell logo appears) continuously press F12 key until a yellow message pops-up in the top right corner of the screen saying “preparing one-time boot menu…”

Navigate to and select the option of “Onboard NIC(IPV4)” – down arrow ONCE and hit enter.

It will go to a screen that prompts for a selection between “DS – OS Deploy – Automation” and “DS – OS Deploy – Technician”.

You may either wait 30 seconds and it will auto-select “DS – OS Deploy – Automation” or you may hit “Enter” to skip this timeout.

Success screen when the image finishes

The Dell laptop should start imaging (loading WIM file is first step) and be completely automated until finished. (approx. 1 hour)

When completed there will be a screen where you will be asked to click ‘Finish’
