HR - Employee Self Service - Change Emergency Contacts

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This procedure is for an employee to change Emergency Contacts in HRS through self-service via the portal.

PROCEDURE STEPS:

Add or Edit an Emergency Contact

  1. When you are logged into the employee portal (see UWSC Support - Logging in to My.Wisconsin.edu System Portal), click the Personal Information Tile.

  2. Click the Update my personal information link.

  3. Click the Change Emergency Contacts button

  4. Click Add Emergency Contact or the Edit icon (the pencil).

  5. In Contact Name field, enter or edit Name using Last Name, First Name. This will ensure that emergency contact list will be in alphabetical order.

  6. Click or unclick check boxes indicating Contact has the same Address / Telephone # as employee, if applicable.

  7. Edit Address Link to change Address, if Address is not the same as employees, if applicable.

  8. Enter a 10 digit Phone Number in the Telephone field, if Telephone Number is not the same as employees.

  9. Add an additional Phone Number by clicking the Add a Phone Number button.

    1. Click the down arrow under Phone Type to designate a Phone Type for new number.

    2. Click in the Telephone field and enter 10 digit number.

  10. Delete Additional Phone Number by clicking the delete button if applicable.

  11. Click the SAVE button. Successful Save page appears.

  12. Click OK button.

  13. To change the primary contact, click the appropriate checkbox then click Save.



Delete an Emergency Contact

  1. When you are logged into the employee portal (see UWSC Support - Logging in to My.Wisconsin.edu System Portal), click the Personal Information Tile.

  2. Click the Update my personal information link.

  3. Click the Change Emergency Contacts button

  4. Click the Delete icon.

  5. Delete confirmation page appears, click Yes - Delete if you intend to delete the contact listed, or No - Do Not Delete if you've selected the incorrect contact.
