Will remote study visits no longer be required after the campus begins allowing face-to-face visits to occur?

Last updated: 5.28.2020

All research tasks that can be performed remotely should continue to be performed remotely, even after the phase-in start date. Study teams that have been conducting remote visits should continue to do so, per their IRB-approved protocol. Study teams that initially suspended their research activities until more information was available on face-to-face visits should submit a change of protocol to the IRB to move to conducting remote study activities whenever possible. The HS IRBs has guidance available on remote visit requirements and considerations for human subjects research: Remote Study Activities Guidance.
