Campus Active Directory - CADS Environments

Campus Active Directory consists of three different environments; Production, Quality Assurance, and Integrated Testing Environment. Each of these environments consists of a single Active Directory forest and has its own purpose within the Campus Active Directory Service. Campus Active Directory customers are provisioned in both Production and Quality Assurance. Customers will be provisioned into the Integrated Testing Environment on a case-by-case basis.

Production

  • Forest: ad.wisc.edu
  • NetID Data: Production
  • Purpose: Production Campus Active Directory environment
Quality Assurance (QA)
  • Forest Name: qa.wisc.edu
  • NetID Data: Production
  • Purpose: Final testing of Forest/Domain changes and Customer testing of departmental changes
  • Contains production QA data.

Integrated Testing Environment (ITE)
  • Forest Name: ite.ad.wisc.edu
  • NetID Data: Test
  • Purpose: Development and testing of upcoming changes to the CADS service
  • Does not contain production data.
