UW Digital ID (Personal Certificate) - Revoking a Personal Certificate through Comodo
If you received a Comodo certificate from the UW Digital ID migration or through the Comodo interface, you were required to supply a pass-phrase to revoke your certificate at any time. This document describes how you would issue a revocation for certificates issued through the Comodo interface.
You do NOT need to issue a revocation as part of using your personal digital certificate. Only use these steps if you believe your certificate has been compromised. Please contact UW Digital ID Administration at uwdigitalid@doit.wisc.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
You can contact UW Digital ID Administration at uwdigitalid@doit.wisc.edu to revoke your certificate. If you would like to revoke the certificate yourself, you can follow the instructions below.
- Navigate to https://hard.cert-manager.com/customer/wuwisc/smime?action=revoke.
- Enter the primary email address associated with your certificate.
- Enter the pass phrase you entered at the time of enrollment. This was the password you entered at the "Pass-phrase" prompt.
- Click "Submit." Your certificate is now revoked. To reissue your certificate, please contact UW Digital ID Administration at uwdigitalid@doit.wisc.edu to reissue your certificate.
