Manifest - FAQ

This document contains frequently asked questions about the Manifest service.

Can I reuse a group that has already been created?

There are two ways to use a population that already exists:

  • Directly using the existing group.
  • Adding the existing group as a member of a new group (see the Adding Groups section of Manifest - Manage Group Members).

Do Manifest groups have different permissions levels?

Yes, the permissions levels can be found here as well as instructions on how to update them: Manifest - Manage Group Privileges

Do Manifest groups expire?

Orphaned groups, defined as a group all of whose administrator(s) has/have left the University, may be deleted in order to maintain efficiency of the service. Groups that do not have any administrators and are not in use may also be deleted. Because of this, we recommend that you designate a backup administrator for your group right away to prevent abandoned or orphaned groups upon your transfer from the department or school, or departure from the University.
