Issue: Chrome version 134 released on 2025-03-04 introduced elements that disrupt the ability to access the accessibility layer in chrome. This functionality is critical to be able to pull the proper information from the targeted web page or application.

Symptoms: When end users try to link a document from a web page using a learnmode based capture profile, they receive an error. One example of an error that pops up for HR related document linking is "Could not find label [Employee Name:]"

Work-around Overview: The short to medium term work-around is for all users that need to capture documents by pulling information from an open web page is to create a new Google Chrome shortcut on their desktop that uses a particular flag in the target field for the shortcut:

--force-renderer-accessibility=complete

Work-around manual solution step by step:

  1. Open a command prompt window
[WinKey] + R, then CMD [Return]

  2. Copy and paste the following command into the Command Prompt window.
You may need to hit the [Return] key to execute.

  3. This will create a "Chrome for Imaging" shortcut on your Windows desktop.  Use this shortcut when you will be performing Imaging tasks with your LearnMode based document capture.

NOTE!: If you have Chrome open for a different purpose, you will need to completely close Chrome before launching Chrome again from the shortcut created in this work-around.

If you continue to have problems using the new shortcut:
