Integration Platform User Agreement

Welcome to UW-Madison’s Integration Platform, a service provided by the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) at UW-Madison. This agreement is intended to clearly outline the terms and conditions under which you may access and use this platform.

DoIT Enterprise Integration Scope

DoIT’s Enterprise Integration (EI) team, is responsible for maintaining and administering the Integration Platform as a shared resource, available for faculty, staff, and students at UW-Madison. 

Integration Platform Contact Us

Specifically, our responsibilities are outlined below:

  • Manage user access

  • Coordinate platform-wide security

  • Monitor platform health

  • Provide weekday support, in accordance with UW-Madison Standard Office Hours

  • Help with building or managing integrations

  • Supply documentation and training resources

  • Manage disaster recovery for infrastructure-level assets and critical services

  • Liaise with platform vendor for support escalation

  • Provide advance notice of upgrades, releases, and planned downtimes

Our infrastructure depends on third-party vended solutions. While we strive to maintain uninterrupted service, please note that external circumstances beyond our control may occasionally affect availability.

User Scope

Integration Platform users are expected to adhere to all relevant institutional policies and guidelines governing data usage, cybersecurity, and conduct, including the Institutional Data and Acceptable Use policies, referenced at the end of this agreement. 

The following points are specific responsibilities expected from you, as an integrator:

  • Familiarize yourself with the platform documentation and training

  • Develop and test integrations in the test environment before they are deployed into the production environment

  • Run all integrations that are running on an automated schedule only from the production environment

  • Set proper team-level permissions on all project folders, connectors, and all other related assets as outlined in this guide on working in the shared environment

  • Obtain necessary data governance approvals for your integrations

  • Obtain any cybersecurity approvals for your integrations

  • Do not build integrations that use restricted data, only sensitive and below is permitted in the platform

  • Comply with UW-Madison’s Data Integration Standards

  • Secure and manage your own keys and certificates

  • Back up your projects

Use of the shared Integration Platform is free to faculty, staff, and students at UW-Madison. This shared platform meets the needs of most integrators but additional resources, which may be subject to charges, are available for groups that require them. Please see our pricing document for more information about other available resources.

Teams must notify integration-platform@doit.wisc.edu when a member leaves the organization. It is your responsibility to ensure that any schedules, data, or assets owned by the departing team member are properly transferred or reassigned.

To get an account we require:

  • Contact information for a primary and secondary contact

  • Your anticipated use case(s) for the platform

  • Acknowledgement that you are aware of our documentation and training materials

  • Acknowledgement of this user agreement

Agreement Terms

This agreement may be updated periodically and users will be notified of changes by email. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
