Careful topic creation and maintenance also provides a clear site map and built-in navigational links. This document will review helpful ways to organize your content via Topics
A structured topic hierarchy promotes:
- consistency across authors
- supports scalable growth as content libraries expand<
- and makes it easier to maintain, review, and govern documents over time.
Additionally, topics can help:
- reduce duplicate content
- identify gaps in knowledge coverage
- support reporting and analysis
- create a more user-friendly experience for both new and experienced users
Documents can be associated with multiple topics and levels within the hierarchy, as a result, the system offers flexible classification that enhances content accessibility and overall knowledge management effectiveness.
- With the correct permissions, you may:
- Create one or many topics, sub-topics and create a topics tree.
- Categorize documents for filtering from the KB Admin Tools and/or from your internal and/or external sites.
- Make certain topics visible on your internal and/or external KB sites.
- Create a topics tree for your sub site(s).
- Create Topic-dependent Footers that only appear on documents assigned to a specific topic.
- Create a Meta-Description page to define what your topic is and is not.
