L&S University Staff Issues Committee (USIC)

This document introduces the College of Letters & Science University Staff Issues Committee (USIC) and lists current members.

L&S University Staff Issues Committee

The College of Letters & Science University Staff Issues Committee (USIC) represents the College university staff. The committee also advises the Dean on the development and review of all College policies and procedures affecting university staff.

In addition, the Committee provides advice to the Dean on developing opportunities for participation of university staff members in department and unit governance, and developing opportunities for recognition of university staff member contributions to the College’s mission and to the excellence of its programs.

The nine committee members meet monthly.

USIC was created in 2003 by Dean Phil Certain and provides a forum for Letters & Science university staff to:

  • provide input regarding college policies that affect university staff;
  • provide an opportunity to develop and promote new initiatives for professional growth and for college and departmental governance;
  • promote recognition of university staff; and,
  • advise the Dean on policy and other issues.

How to get involved with the USIC

The committee welcomes email suggestions from Letters & Science university staff regarding issues and initiatives that should be considered by the committee.
