Financial Overview
Reports related to financial review of cost centers, gifts, grants, programs, projects.
Budget to Actuals
These reports will help you view revenue and expenses for programs, projects, gifts, and grants. They also include additional helpful information such as cost center, PI, and ending balances.
All Funds Financial Budget to Actuals (UW)
This is the flagship financial report. It will give you a view very similar to WISER showing revenue and expenses for a given period. Use this reports for non grant and award worktags such as gifts and programs. You can also run your search based off cost center or cost center hierarchy.
Pros: Very similar look and feel to historic WISER system
Cons: While projects and grants show up when you search using a cost center you cannot directly use this report to specifically target a grant or project.
Report Tutorial
Simple Search: Just add your Period and Cost Center and hit "OK".
Award Budget to Actuals (UW)
This report is very similar to the "All Funds Budget to Actuals (UW)" report however is specific to awards. It will provided all direct and indirect costs to an award/grant as well as revenue. At a minimum you need the Award ID to run the report. This report is great to view the overall spend on an award and any cost share.
Pros: Expenses are rolled up into an object class and cost share is recorded.
Cons: The Deviation % column can be confusing and breaking down expenses by spend category requires multiple drill downs. Award ID is required to run report.

Grant Budget to Actuals Summary (UW)
This report will give a financial overview of a specific grant, grants in a cost center, and grants with the same PI. The report will provide info such as PI, Grant Manager, start and end dates. It will not break out expenses based on category as well as the "Award Budget to Actuals (UW)" report.
Pros: Great overview and quick view of the balance of a grant.
Cons: Limited drill down on expenses and revenue.
Grant Expense Lookup for Specific Time Period Tutorial
Simple Search: Just add your grant ID and hit "OK".
Program Budget to Actuals Summary (UW)
This report provides a financial overview of a specific program, programs in a cost center, and programs by PI or program manager. It will not break out expenses based on category as well as the "Award Budget to Actuals (UW)" report.
Pros: Great overview and quick view of the balance of a program.

Gift Financial Summary
This report is comparable to the other "Budget to Actuals" reports however is specific to gifts and trust funds. It provides a financial overview of a specific gift, gifts in a cost center, and gifts by gift manager. It will not break out expenses based on category as well as the "Award Budget to Actuals (UW)" report.
Disclaimer:
On a gift worktag the default and allowable cost centers impact the results returned on a report depending on criteria chosen. Your safest bet is to run it by individual gift worktag.
For a list of gifts where your department is the default department, run the gift financial summary using the gift hierarchy. You are only going to see results for the worktags you are the default cost center on. If you are an allowable cost center results will not be returned.
Pros: Great overview and quick view of the balance of a gift. Start and end dates are included.
Cons: Limited drill down on expenses and revenue.
Financials by Organization - 5 Year (UW)
This report will be helpful in looking at revenue and expenses by year over the last 5 years. You can look at financials by cost center, cost center hierarchy, or even a specific worktag. It is very flexible with its search criteria under the "organization" search box. It is highly recommended you review the training documents prior to running this report.
Pros: Provides historical data in a clean view similar to the multi year view in WISER. You can search individual worktags under the Organization search box.
Cons: Includes Assets and Liabilities + Equity which can be confusing and irrelevant depending on the intent of the search. At this time the very bottom balance equation is broken, DO NOT USE.
Report Tutorial
Simple Search: Type in "UWMSN" for company, add your Cost Center under Organization, select a Period, change book to common book, and hit "OK".
Financials by Organization (UW)
This report is very similar to All Funds Financial Budget to Actuals (UW). The major difference is this one will show you assets and liabilities. It is recommended to use All Funds Financial Budget to Actuals unless you need to look at those items specifically.
Pros: will display assets and liabilities for a department.
Cons: Visually can be confusing and certain columns irrelevant depending on the intent of the search.
Simple Search: Just add your Cost Center under Organization, select a Period and hit "OK".
Payroll
Reports related to payroll posting, costing allocation changes, and current costing allocations for employees.
Current Workers and Jobs with Funding (UW)
This report will provide the current costing allocations for all active positions in a given cost center or sup org. It can be run based off cost center or sup org but It is recommended you use sup org. You can also look up by individual worker, compensation basis, job profile, and pay rate type.
Pros: This report updates in real time and will show distribution percent and compensation basis.
Cons: The effective date will only pull positions that are active as of that date. Regardless of whatever date is entered here it will pull the most current costing allocation for the position.
Report Tutorial
Simple Search: Just change the organization search to your sup org and hit "OK".
All Workers Costing Allocations by CCHL, Company, Sup Org or Worker (UW)
This report will show you all the costing allocations for a particular employee / position over time and changes that were made. It can also be run by sup org, a specific worker, or worktag.
Pros: Will show any salary over the cap and shows start and end dates of costing allocations
Cons: If a position is terminated/ended even in the middle of a pay period it will remove that position / worker from this report
Report Tutorial
Simple Search: Just add your Supervisory Organization and select "Include Subordinate Organizations" and hit "OK"
Payroll Accounting 360 (UW)
This report will be helpful in tracking payroll that has posted as well as the pay period it has posted to. It will also show you the funding that the payroll has been charged to and the dollar amount charged. This report can also be used to look at payroll obligations(future payroll). As of now it is the furthest looking out payroll report we have.
Pros: Shows specific dollar amount paid and pay period.
Cons: Journal source filters can be confusing and filtering to get expected upcoming payroll has proven difficult and tedious.

Simple Search: Just add a cost center hierarchy or cost center to the organization box and hit "OK".
Salary and Payroll Commitment Report (UW)
This report will show what funding will be charged for the upcoming payroll period. You can use the search criteria to go back pay periods as well. It is recommended that you filter Journal Source by “Payroll Actual Accrual” and remove “2050” from the Ledger Account.
Pros: You can view what fund will be charged before payroll edits are due. This report can be run based off payroll period including the current period
Cons: The report does not generate the current pay period right away, it will generally generate the Monday after the first week of the payroll period. The report takes a long time to generate and it can only be run by cost center.
Simple Search: Select the payroll period you want to search for, UW Biweekly Pay Group for Run Group, and then a cost center or cost center hierarchy. Hit "OK"
Payroll Accounting by Period / Group - Flattened (UW)
Similar to the Salary and Payroll Commitment Report (UW). Further details coming soon.....
Expense Reports
Common reports used to find expense report detail information.
Expense Report (UW)
This report will return individual expense report lines. It is the primary report for expenses that you will run. You can also search by worktag or fund.
Pros: Can search created by and payee names, worktags, and returns all lines
Cons: If you are looking for just a report ID Find expense reports may be a better option. as the memo line can be lengthy making report difficult to navigate.
Simple Search: Add your driver worktag or search an individual under "Expense Report Created By" or "Expense Report Payee" and hit "OK".
Find Expense Reports
This report will show you the expense report and not the individual lines.
Pros: Consolidated and easy to see a report total and who it is paid to
Cons: Does not show the funding that is charged, nor can you search by worktag
Simple Search: Set Company to "UWMSN" and type in the name of the individual who created the report and hit "OK".
Find Credit Card Transactions (UW)
This report is primarily used by credit card administrators but you may still find some use to it.
Pros: You can search all transactions by a specific cardholder. Memos and attachments are also included on the report
Cons: Since campus is the administrators for p cards there will be limited use of this report for departments.
