L&S Interdisciplinary Subject Listing
Summary: The Schedule of Courses includes within it a listing for L&S Interdisciplinary Courses, where can be found a number of courses that are so highly interdisciplinary, that they are unsuited to listing in any particular department. This document briefly explains the procedure for using the listing, and links to the guidelines for obtaining approval to list a course in this area.
In accordance with the administrative guidelines for the L&S Interdisciplinary subject listing, the L&S Curriculum Committee serves as the faculty body that approves whether courses may be listed in that subject. For procedures on how to list a course in this area, please refer to to Guidelines for L&S Curriculum Committee Interdisciplinary Course and Topic Approval.
Since Associate Dean Nancy Westphal-Johnson serves as the Chair of this department, please contact her about potential listings. Please note that all new courses will need to go through the approval process, which includes seeking approval from the L&S Curriculum Committee and the relevant Divisional Executive Committees. Please plan ahead, implementing or changing courses can take several months. See How much lead time is needed to implement a new course, or to a change to an existing course?
