Printing (Windows) - Configuring Secure Print on a Canon Copier

Follow these steps to configure the secure print feature of a Canon copier on your computer.

Windows 11

  1. Open Settings.
  2. In the navigation pane on the left, select Bluetooth & devices.
  3. Click Printers & scanners.
  4. Select the copier from the list of connected printers.

    If you do not see the copier in your list of printers, see Printing (Windows) - Mapping a Departmental Printer for steps to connect.

  5. Click Printing preferences.
  6. On the bottom of the Main tab, ensure the "Output Method" is set to Secure Print.

    If you do not see the Main tab, contact Technical Support for assistance.

  7. Click Settings... next to Secure Print dropdown menu.
  8. Enter a PIN of your choosing.
  9. Click OK then OK again.

Consider sending a print job to the copier and following the steps in Printing - Releasing a Secure Print on a Canon Copier to release the job at the copier.

Windows 10

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Devices.
  3. In the navigation pane on the left, click Printers & scanners.
  4. Select the copier from the list of connected printers, then click Manage.

    If you do not see the copier in your list of printers, see Printing (Windows) - Mapping a Departmental Printer for steps to connect.

  5. Click Printing preferences.
  6. On the bottom of the Main tab, ensure the "Output Method" is set to Secure Print.

    If you do not see the Main tab, contact Technical Support for assistance.

  7. Click Settings... next to Secure Print dropdown menu.
  8. Enter a PIN of your choosing.
  9. Click OK then OK again.
