Office365 - Manually Submitting a Message as Spam or Phishing
The steps on this page outline the process of manually submitting a message as spam.
Outlook for Windows (2013, 2016, 2019, or 365)
- Open Outlook.
- Select the message you'd like to report.
- In the "Respond" section of the "Home" tab, click More (
) > Forward as Attachment. If you do not see the "Respond" section, look under the ellipsis
button on the far right.
- If the message is a phish, enter abuse@wisc.edu as the recipient. If the message is just spam, enter report-spam@doit.wisc.edu as the recipient.
- Click Send.
- Delete the message from your Inbox.
Outlook for macOS (2016, 2019, or 365)
- Open Outlook.
- Select the message you'd like to report.
- In the "Home" tab, click Attachment (
). If you do not see the Attachment button, look under the Respond button instead.
- If the message is a phish, enter abuse@wisc.edu as the recipient. If the message is just spam, enter report-spam@doit.wisc.edu as the recipient.
- Click Send.
- Delete the message from your Inbox.
Mail for macOS
- Open Mail.
- Right-click on the message you'd like to report and select Forward as Attachment.
- If the message is a phish, enter abuse@wisc.edu as the recipient. If the message is just spam, enter report-spam@doit.wisc.edu as the recipient.
- Click the Send message
button.
- Delete the message from your Inbox.
