Make Me Admin (Windows)

How to use the Make Me Admin application to manage local administrator permissions.
  1. Open Make Me Admin from your Start menu.
  2. Wait for a moment as the application evaluates your account. When the Grant Me Administrator Rights button enables, click it.

    If the Grant Me Administrator Rights button changes to show You are not authorized to use this application, please contact the TechZone.

You should receive a popup indicating you are now an administrator:

Make Me Admin popup saying "You are now a member of the Administrators group."

After becoming an administrator, you will still need to enter your password when doing an administrative task. See Windows - Using Administrative Credentials.

Your administrator access will last for 10 minutes.
