Student Organization Registration
For existing groups
Please visit the Registration 101 page on SOLI's website to review deadlines and instructions to re-register your organization.
Law School student organizations are considered "dual-registered" and therefore have early access to the registration application each year. To take advantage of this, we strongly encourage you to complete the application process prior to August 1st to ensure it is reviewed before another 500+ RSOs gain access to the application. During August and September, there are high volumes of applications and it can take up to 5 weeks for review. The turn around time is usually much shorter in July, but can still take up to 3 weeks. To allow for processing time and any necessary re-submissions, please work to submit this application as soon as you can.
For new or previously inactive groups
If you would like to start a new student organization or re-activate an organization, any student who is at least half-time enrolled may do so by following the steps below:
- First check the Law School RSO Directory to make sure the organization does not already exist.
- Meet with the Assistant Director of Student Life to discuss your plans. You can schedule an appointment via Starfish. Please note that your organization must be related to student life in the Law School in order to affiliate with and receive benefits from the Law School.
- Follow the instructions outlined in the Registration 101 page to complete your registration with SOLI.
For more information and guidance please review the Student Organization Resource & Policy Guide's Registration 101 page or reach out to SOLI at soli@union.wisc.edu or 608.263.0365.
