Learn@UW - HTML Content Topics Display in Content Tool but Not in HTML Editor
This document describes how to handle the problem where HTML Content topics display in the Content tool but not in the HTML editor.
If a blank page or just a few characters such as <> display in the HTML editor, the problem is that HTML code precedes the opening body tag.
This is a known issue.
To fix the problem, you will need to edit the HTML source as described in Learn@UW - Editing HTML Source in a Document with the HTML Editor. In the HTML Source Editor, manually move the HTML code so that the opening body tag precedes the code for the displayed content.
For example, suppose you see the following in the HTML Source Editor:
Select the text between </HEAD> and <BODY>:
Cut and paste the selected text between <BODY> and </BODY> :
The topic will now display in the HTML editor:
