Gradescope is a tool used together with Canvas to assess students and give feedback. Starting August 4, 2025, it will be available to all UW-Madison instructors.

• Instructors can set up specialized types of assignments, taken both in-person and online in Gradescope. The main kinds of assignments are: 

  • Exam/Quiz

  • Homework/Problem Set

  • Bubble Sheet

  • Programming Assignment

  • Online Assignment
