AEFIS - Administrator Roles and Permissions

This document describes the types administrator roles that are used in AEFIS.

Administrator roles must be set manually. To request a new administrator account, see AEFIS - Requesting Changes to an Administrator Account.

Role

Primary Functions

Used By

College Admin

Within their assigned college, these admins can:

  • Create and edit survey templates
  • Create and edit survey schedules
  • Assign surveys to courses
  • View survey results and run reports

This roles is used by program staff to create, distribute, and analyze course evaluation surveys for their schools or colleges.

College Admin Read Only

Within their assigned college, these admins can:

  • View survey templates
  • View survey schedules
  • View survey assignments
  • View survey results and run reports

This is an uncommon role. It is primarily used by college-level administrators who need to view AEFIS survey data but do not need to create or distribute surveys.

Department Admin

Within their assigned department, these admins can:

  • Create and edit survey templates
  • Create and edit survey schedules
  • Assign surveys to courses
  • View survey results and run reports

This is the most common AEFIS admin role. It is used by program staff to create, distribute, and analyze course evaluation surveys for their departments.

Department Admin Read Only

Within their assigned department, these admins can:

  • View survey templates
  • View survey schedules
  • View survey assignments
  • View survey results and run reports

This role is primarily used by Program Chairs or other department-level administrators who need to view AEFIS survey data but do not need to create or distribute surveys.

Department Course/Syllabus Admin

Within their assigned department, these admins can:

  • Create and edit course- and section-level learning objectives
  • Edit and publish course- and section-level syllabi

This role is used by department-level staff to assist instructors in writing their syllabi.

Institutional Admin

These admins can:

  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Create and edit survey templates
  • Create and edit survey schedules
  • Assign surveys to courses
  • View survey results and run reports

This is an uncommon role. It is primarily used by technical support staff.

Institutional Admin Read Only

These admins can:

  • View user accounts
  • View survey templates
  • View survey schedules
  • View survey assignments
  • View survey results and run reports

This is an uncommon role.
