What is UDOIT?
The Universal Design Online Content Inspection Tool, or UDOIT (pronounced, “You Do It”), is a course accessibility checker integrated in Canvas. Instructors and course designers can use it to scan an entire Canvas course to identify accessibility barriers.
Please see the UW-Madison’s UDOIT IT service page for basic information about features and support.
Tool Functionality Details
Resolve Common Errors
Common errors and suggestions are listed on this document from UW-System. These are also displayed in the UDOIT interface.
The tool also maintains reports as to how many barriers have been identified, how many have been fixed, and how many remain to be addressed.
UDOIT can be used for all Canvas courses to find accessibility barriers, which can inhibit students’ experience with the course.
For instructions on how to get started with UDOIT, see UDOIT - Getting Started [UW-Madison].
