Learn@UW - Adding RegisterBlast to Your Canvas Course (Instructor)

RegisterBlast is a tool used by the Testing and Evaluation Services to schedule exam accommodations. This document explains how to connect your course to RegisterBlast.

How do I connect my Canvas course to RegisterBlast?

To use RegisterBlast, instructors will need to enable it in their course navigation.

  1. Open your Canvas course homepage.
  2. Scroll down to and select Settings from your Canvas course sidebar.
    Select "settings" from Canvas nav menu
  3. From the available tabs, click Navigation.

  4. Scroll down until you see Testing Center (RegisterBlast) under the Drag items here to hide them from students heading.
  5. Select Edit (three stacked dots) and Enable.
    Select Edit, then Enable.
  6. Testing Center will now appear just above Drag items here to hide them from students. Click the area to the left of Testing Center, then drag and drop the tile where you want it to appear on your course homepage.

  7. Select Save at the bottom of the page.
  8. Testing Center (RegisterBlast) will now appear on navigation sidebar.

Additional Considerations

  • This process will need to be repeated for every course that you wish to connect to RegisterBlast. Once all of your courses have been connected, you may begin creating exam submissions.
  • TAs and staff will need to be enabled as teachers to access and use RegisterBlast in place of a primary instructor.
