What is UW-Madison Kaltura MediaSpace?
Kaltura MediaSpace is a product UW-Madison uses to host and deliver media for educational use at UW-Madison. It is often described as "YouTube for UW-Madison." Faculty, staff and students can upload media content to UW-Madison Kaltura MediaSpace. Media can then be embedded in a Canvas course, website, or linked to. For more information see our KnowledgeBase documents:
- Kaltura - How to Log in to Kaltura MediaSpace (UW-Madison)
- Kaltura - Uploading Files to Kaltura Mediaspace (UW-Madison)
- Kaltura - Frequently Asked Questions (UW-Madison)
Kaltura MediaSpace is not meant to be a storage repository. We recommend you keep copies of your media files and delete media that is no longer needed or used. In the future it is possible old media may be archived or deleted after a period of two years of inactivity.

Kaltura MediaSpace Integration with Canvas
The UW-Madison Canvas learning management system is integrated with Kaltura MediaSpace. Media can be embedded wherever the Canvas rich content editor is available. This integration offers some functionality of Kaltura MediaSpace (record, upload, publish, search, and share) directly from within Canvas. For more information please see our KnowledgeBase documents:
