This document outlines resources on how to get started with Canvas at UW-Madison.
All credit-based courses are now available in Canvas and can be accessed by logging into the Learn@UW Course Dashboard. Faculty and instructional staff should contact the designated instructional technology point-person for their school or college to help plan for their transition to Canvas.
The UW-Madison Canvas Transition Team is focused on transitioning credit-based courses to Canvas, first. The team is not yet in a position to support the transition of non-credit courses at this time. This is true regardless of whether or not the non-credit course participants have NetIDs. The Canvas Transition Team will communicate a timeline for non-credit course conversions to Canvas in early 2017.
Canvas sandbox courses are available for those who wish to experiment with Canvas and begin designing courses in the meantime. Requests can be submitted through the Canvas Course Request form.

Instructure releases updates to Canvas every three weeks. Please see "Canvas Release Notes" for information on new releases. New releases also generally contain a short video summarizing changes in a release. Check the release notes often to stay informed on bug fixes or new features coming to Canvas.
