In versions of Moodle after v2.7, the new Atto text editor is used in most text areas. The Atto text editor is similiar to old versions of Moodle and common word processors. For additional help, please visit

PoodLL Anywhere(Atto) Formatting Text Editing
Similar to Microsoft Word, you can do several things to format text.
Paragraph styles: Allows formatting similar to headers in HTML
Bold: Toggles bold formatting
Italic: Toggles italic formatting
Font size: Changes size to relative values (e.g. small, x-large)
Unordered List: Creates bulleted list
Ordered List: Creates numbered list
Link: Creates a hyperlink to the site
Unlink: Removes an already created link
Underline: Toggles underline formatting
Strike through: Toggles strike through formatting
Subscript: Toggles subscript formatting (useful for chemical equations)
Superscript: Toggles superscript formatting (useful for exponents)
Left align: Aligns text or media to the left
Center: Centers text or media
Right align: Aligns text or media to the right
Outdent: Moves text or images slightly to the left
Indent: Moves text or images slightly to the right
Clear Formatting: Removes formatting on text
Undo: Removes the last formatting applied or last text/media added
Redo: Reapplies the last undo made
Inputting Files
Image: Adds or edits images
Media: Adds or edits media (audio/video)
Manage files: Allows the embedding of files into your course
Kaltura Media: Adds media from Kaltura
Third Party Plugins
Styles: Adds boxes/styling common to web development
WIRIS editor: Implements Latex equations

hiddenblock (Atto): Adds a block that is hidden to students
Toggle preview: Allows you to view your content the way it will look when it is live in your course
Toggle full screen: Expands the text editor to full screen
PoodLL Anywhere (Atto): Allows you to record audio/video, draw a picture, or take a picture to add to your course
Moodle Built-in Features
Equation Editor: Implements equation using
TeX
Insert character: Adds characters to your page (e.g. Greek letters, accented letters)
Table: Adds table
Accessibility checker: Checks your page for accessibility that is used for people using screenreaders
Screenreader helper: Assists in making links/images/media accessible
HTML: Allows you to edit the source code of your page to manually change the HTML code.
