Badger Data - Adding Credentials to Tableau Server

Workbooks connected to Snowflake and uploaded to Tableau Server require you to embed your credentials on the server itself. This document will go over the procedure for creating credentials on the server for your uploaded workbooks to utilize.

  1. Log into https://tableau.wisconsin.edu/

  2. In the upper right corner, click your initials and click My Account Settings.

  3. Navigate to Saved Credentials for Data Sources and click Add next to Snowflake.

  4. Enter the authentication details and click Add.

    • Server: laa66896.us-east-1.snowflakecomputing.com

    • Role: <Leave blank>

  5. A pop-up window will open, prompting you to log into Snowflake. Click Log in using ADFSSingleSignOn.

  6. Click Allow.
