Using the Repository of Administrative Dashboards and Reports (RADAR)
RADAR is the one-stop, central portal for exploring and locating UW-Madison’s administrative dashboards and reports. This KB article explains how to get the most out of RADAR and its multiple methods for finding dashboards or reports.
Search for a Specific Dashboard or Report

To browse the selection of dashboards or reports available, use any of the filters described below.
By default, dashboards and reports are listed in alphabetical order by Name unless the user executes a search. Users also have the option to sort by Newest First, which places dashboards and reports that were added most recently at the top of the list. Sorting by Newest First appeals to users who periodically check on particular categories of dashboards or reports relevant to them.
To narrow the dashboards and reports listed to a specific Data Domain, select an option from the Data Domain drop-down. Each dashboard or report can belong to one or more Data Domains. Data Domains are approved by the Data Stewardship Council and are subject to change.
To narrow the dashboards and reports listed to a specific type of dashboard or report, use the Type drop-down to select one of the options described below.
Some dashboards and reports are available to anyone, including members of the public. Others require authentication due to security, legal, or privacy concerns. A dashboard or report requiring authentication are denoted by the lock symbol next to its name. Some dashboards or reports are limited to specific access groups according to the Administrative Data Access Provisioning Policy. Other dashboards and reports are available only to a particular audience specified by the developer of the dashboard or report.The process for gaining access varies according to the Access Restriction placed on each dashboard or report. Descriptions are listed below along with information on and how to gain access to each Access Restriction.
Access Restriction Description How to Gain Access Publicly Available Any user can view the dashboard or report. Not applicable. No restrictions are placed on this dashboard or report. All Employees UW-Madison employees use their NetID to access the dashboard or report. Not applicable. User must be a UW-Madison employee. Specific Audience A specific list of users is given access by the developer of the dashboard or report. Select the Request Access link on the right side of the page to send an email request to that workbook’s developer. Data Access Groups
(Eg. Student Data - Restricted, Faculty & Staff Data - Internal)
