My UW-Madison - Customizing Tabs

This document describes how to add and move tabs in the My UW-Madison portal.

Adding a New Tab

  1. Click on the + icon to the right of the last tab.

    Click on the plus sign

  2. The page will refresh and you will see a new tab labeled MY TAB to the left of the + button.


  3. Click on the new tab labeled MY TAB and rename it to whatever you would like.

  4. Press the Enter key or click off of the new tab to finish renaming it.

Moving an Existing Tab

  1. Click on the tab you would like to move. It will change to look like the following screenshot.

  2. Mouse over the dotted part of the tab.

  3. Click and hold the mouse button down.

  4. Drag the tab over to where you want it so that the darker block appears and release the mouse button.

Setting the Default Tab

The leftmost tab is the first tab you see when you log in. If you want to change which tab is the default, simply move it to the left as described above.

Deleting a Tab

  1. Click on the tab you want to delete

  2. The tab will change color and there will be an X on the right side. Click on the X to delete the tab.

    Press the X to delete the tab

  3. You will be given a confirmation window asking you if you want to delete the tab. Click OK to delete it.

    Click OK
