MyUW - Bug - Time and Absence - Data could not be retrieved

The Time and Absence app in both MyUW (Madison) and My UW System intermittently is showing a "Data could not be retrieved" error. This is typically resolved by reloading the page or by logging out and logging back in.

What is wrong?

The Time and Absence app intermittently is unable to function for some employees, instead displaying a "Data could not be retrieved" error message.

How can I work around this bug?

Most reports of this issue have been resolvable by reloading the page or by logging out and logging back in. Please do try that as it may get you immediately un-stuck and able to successfully access this functionality. We apologize that this hassle is necessary and are working to make this module more reliable.

How can I get help?

Please contact the help desk ( Get Help from DoIT ). Please do not directly contact the UW Service Center about this issue, even though that is what the error message advises, as the UW Service Center will not be able to help you with this issue more effectively than can the Helpdesk.

What are you doing about this issue?

We apologize for the inconvenience this issue is causing.

The MyUW team is investigating why this error is appearing more often than had been typical, how the HRS integration modules can be made more reliable and more supportable, and is looking to update the error messages that these apps display when they do fail so as to provide more helpful, correct, useful guidance.
