Atomic Assessments - Reports of System Errors/Outage (Update 10/3/20 - Resolved)

As of 3:45PM CST on Sept. 2 there were multiple reports of users receiving errors when attempting to access Atomic Assessments activities in Canvas. The errors occurred for both students and instructors and included "We're sorry but something went wrong" errors, as well as network error messages. The vendor has resolved the issue and service has been restored to normal.

The issue was caused by increased load from increased application machines that were added, which caused excess memory pressure on the database machines. 

Atomic Jolt indicates they have increased the RAM in the database machines and has doubled the CPU cores in order to reduce the likelihood of this issue reoccurring.
