Below is the sequence of events scheduled for Thursday and Friday, August 14 & 15, to update the Perceptive Content system from version 24.1 to version 25.1

--Thursday, August 14th--

6:00 pm - Production system shutdown for backup and upgrade. Department Leads will be contacted when this begins

--Friday, August 15th--

By 8:00 am - Department Leads will be contacted when the following services are available in Production for user acceptance testing (UAT)

  • Perceptive Content Client
  • Perceptive Experience
  • Import/export processes

8:00 am  - Imaging Team begins support for user acceptance testing in Production

  • Acceptance Testing: From 8am to 11am the Production system is available for user acceptance testing and should not be used for full Imaging production as there is a risk of document loss IF the update fails user acceptance testing and needs to be rolled back.
  • If you have tested against the Imaging TEST environment in the last month you should use the same mechanisms to test in the PROD environment for your user acceptance testing. Please do NOT upgrade any computers this morning that have not already been upgraded for testing UNTIL AFTER user acceptance testing is completed.
  • If you run into issues during your user acceptance testing of the PRODuction environment, please inform the Imaging Team at imaging-support@doit.wisc.edu
  • User Acceptance Testing Reporting is due before 11:00am. Please submit your results at https://uwmadison.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eQAQLOX9ZDIIXqe

11:00 am - Assess environment and determine the need for an update roll-back

  • If NO significant issues are identified during user acceptance testing, the Imaging Team will
    • Contact Department Leads with the decision to move ahead
    • Set PEDS to update Imaging clients
    • Normal support obtains
  • If significant issues are identified, the Imaging Team will
    • Decide if an update roll-back needs to occur
    • Contact Department Leads with the decision and a time estimate
