RESOLVED: Document Viewer in the Content and Dropbox tools functioning normally.

The Learn@UW service investigated reports of users being unable to access files in the Document Viewer in the Content and Dropbox tools starting on Tuesday, March 4. The document viewer displayed the following message:

"There was an error converting this document. Some or all of it may not be displayed."

The issue that prevented the viewing of files in the Document Viewer was corrected as of 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. However, corrupted documents created earlier continued to display. These corrupted images were cleared from the system, causing any new access to the documents to require that they be re-rendered. As the number of items in the queue for processing by the Document Viewer increased, the process slowed to where users were essentially unable to view documents that had not yet been rendered. Users could view affected documents by downloading them (selecting the "Download" option that appears below the window displaying the error message or clicking the down arrow on the right side of the document viewer frame).

The queue for processing has cleared and documents are rendering in the Document Viewer in a timely manner.

We appreciate your patience as work was being done to resolve the issue.
