There will be an outage of the Brio OnDemand Server and the Brio Broadcast Server between 6 AM and noon on Sunday (02/15/04) for upgrades and application of patches. Query Library ODS documents will not be available during this time and you will not be able to open saved ODS documents on your local workstation.
We are upgrading to the most recent release of Brio Intelligence, 6.6.4.44. We are also applying a patch to resolve a few client issues, including most notably the problem caused by a Microsoft update which results in multiple characters in text boxes when using shift with another key.
This upgrade includes several performance and security patches as well. You can read about these further on the web site after the upgrade, and a brief bug description is included in the Explorer and Explorer patch download package. Insight client users (web plug-in) will be prompted to install the latest Insight client when they connect to OnDemand Server following the upgrade. Note that you must connect to ODS with your FASTAR Brio ID and password. You will not be prompted for the upgrade if you connect through the Query Library. The installation procedure is detailed in the helpdesk document http://helpdesk.wisc.edu/page.php?id=1998 and is still current though the version isn't the same.
Intelligence Explorer users (the full PC client) who previously installed version 6.6.1.7 will only need to download the Patch from the Downloads page and follow the installation instructions. New Explorer users (those who have not installed Intelligence Explorer previously) must download both the Explorer package and the Patch from the Downloads page, and follow the instructions for both installations.
Every campus has at least one local Brio contact (http://brio.doit.wisc.edu/, select Contact) if you have questions regarding the upgrade. I have been in contact with these people already and we'll be able to work through any questions with them.
