Box recently announced that beginning on October 31st, 2014, certain iOS, Windows, Mac OS X, and MS Office versions will no longer be supported for use with Box apps. Click for more information about what versions will be impacted and how functionality may change.
All current "End of Life" plans are detailed fully here, however, the most relevant changes have been listed below:
Mac OS X
Access to the Box web client is no longer supported on Mac OS X 10.7 or older. You will not be able to access Box in your browser until you have upgraded to a newer version of OS X.
Box Sync v4.x is no longer supported on Mac OS X 10.7 or older. If you have not updated your Operating System to 10.8 or higher, you will be logged out of your desktop Box Sync client and will receive an error message.
Box Edit is also no longer supported on Mac OS X 10.7 or older. If you have not updated your OS to 10.8 or higher, attempts to edit a document with Box Edit will result in an error message explaining the need to upgrade.
Apple iOS
Pre-v3.x versions of Box apps for iOS are being retired and will no longer be supported. iOS users can download the latest version of Box for iOS from the App Store.
Because the current app version requires iOS 7 or higher, this effectively means that iOS 6 is no longer supported for Box.
Windows
Access to the Box web client is no longer supported on Windows XP or older. You will not be able to access Box in your browser until you have upgraded to a newer version of OS X.
Box Sync v4.x is no longer supported on Windows XP or older. If you have not updated your Operating System to Vista or higher, you will be logged out of your desktop Box Sync client and will receive an error message.
Box Edit is also no longer supported on Windows XP or older. If you have not updated your OS to Vista or higher, attempts to edit a document with Box Edit will result in an error message explaining the need to upgrade.
Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer 7 is no longer supported for access to the Box web client. This also includes Compatibility View in IE8, or any other compatibility mode that mimics IE7.
Microsoft Office
The Box for Office integration is no longer supported for Office 2007. You may still be able to use this feature, however, any issues encountered can only be resolved by upgrading to Office 2010 or 2013.
