Office 365 - Daylight Savings Time Effects on Scheduling
Due to an issue with the way Office 365 calendars read the Daylight Savings Time rules created by any external calendaring system, meetings will appear an hour later on the Office 365 calendar. For example, a meeting scheduled by someone on an external calendaring system at 9 AM will appear within the Office 365 calendar at 10 AM.
Note: This issue may not occur for all users in all instances.
Who does this affect?
This issue will affect any Office 365 user who is receiving a meeting invitation from anyone who is not also scheduling in the Office 365 environment. This includes users from other campuses or institutions, Google Calendar users, etc.
When does this issue occur?
Any meeting created between March 1 and March 31 will be affected.
How can it be determined if this is the case?
- If the email address does not end in 'wisc.edu', this issue will be present.
- If the meeting is scheduled by someone with a 'wisc.edu' address, check for the user here: How to find out which system a user exists in. If they exist in Office 365, the meeting will display correctly. However, if they exist in an external system, the meeting will be an hour behind.
What is being done to correct this?
The Office 365 Team is in contact with Microsoft to get this issue corrected.
