International Academic Programs (IAP) runs study abroad programs, available to students, primarily undergraduate, campus-wide. IAP sends over 1300 students to study abroad each year in over 60 countries on all continents except Antarctica (although this is still an option). IAP also manages a growing study abroad travel grant program. In addition, IAP provides advice to campus schools and colleges on study abroad program development and management.
IAP offers services to UW-Madison students across campus; many programs are also available to Wisconsin residents or degree-seeking students from outside UW-Madison.
The Study Abroad Resource Center is staffed by peer advisors who are UW-Madison undergraduates who have studied abroad. Peer Advisors are prepared to answer general study abroad inquiries, help identify resources and information, and assist in the application process. Skype is also available for a peer advisor - peeradvisor.studyabroad
Professional study abroad advisors also are available for appointments at the following times:
Tuesday: 9am - noon, 1pm-3pm
To make an appointment please call (608) 265-6329 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
IAP has created study abroad Major Advising Pages (MAPs). These MAPs are designed to help students understand considerations for taking major courses abroad, when the best time might be to go or to be on UW's campus, as well as highlights some programs selected by the department as good matches for their majors to earn credit. There are currently MAPs for Economics and History,
