The Violence Prevention Specialist serves as a catalyst for student groups, faculty, and staff by creating opportunities to discuss violence prevention, developing prevention strategies that encourage community-based solutions, and implementing such solutions. In partnership with students, faculty, staff, and community-based organizations, University Health Services' goal is to establish zero tolerance for all forms of abuse and violence at UW-Madison and provides support, advocacy, and healing for survivors.

Beginning in Fall 2017, there is a NEW first-year violence prevention online program: U Got This!

U Got This! is a 60-minute interactive online program that provides students with the knowledge and skills to recognize sexually violent messages in our culture and feel empowered to take action to promote a safer and more respectful campus community. For more information about the U Got This! program (as well as additional background on the decision to discontinue the Tonight program), please see this press release.

Students can access U Got This! via their Learn@UW accounts and must complete the program in order to register for spring semester classes. Following their completion of the U Got This! program, students must also attend an in-person GetWIse workshop; students who do not complete this requirement will be unable to register for the following fall semester.
