Learn@UW - Survey Branching
1. Once a survey is created (see Learn@UW - Creating Surveys for assistance with this), click the Layout/Questions tab.
If you have Multiple Choice or True/False questions in your survey it is possible to add branching. Branching is an optional feature that allows you to direct the order of the questions depending on the respondent's answers.
2. Click the button on the bottom right side after creating your questions. The wizard displays a list of the questions in your survey and their corresponding types. If you get a Confirmation box, click Yes.
3. Next to the corresponding answers, you can create a branch from them by filling in the number of the question you would like to have that answer lead to. You also have the option of terminating the survey after certain answers are chosen.
4. Click .
*Note* When branching is used, survey questions are presented one at a time, each on a separate page (i.e. page breaks are inserted between every question).
