Surplus With A Purpose (SWAP) is a multi-faceted surplus property disposal operation. Its overall focus is to serve the University by reducing its environmental footprint by finding new homes for equipment and furniture.
Note: Madison recycling no longer collects Computer Monitors, Lap tops, Computer CPUs, and Televisions at the curb. These items must now be brought to our two full service drop off sites for recycling. (Large console TVs will be picked up curbside if a $10 fee sticker is attached. The collection will take place on your scheduled large item collection day.)
Another low cost recycling option is taking old computers, monitors, and printers to a local Goodwill. There is no service fee. Three locations are on 2127 East Springs Drive and 4530 Verona Road in Madison, and 2501 Royal Ave. in Monona.
