LastPass - Logging in Using NetID Login

NetID (Federated) Login eliminates the need to remember and use a Master Password to login to LastPass Enterprise.

We prefer "primary" to "master," but LastPass uses "master." Therefore we've done so as well to avoid confusion.

New LastPass Enterprise user's accounts will automatically have NetID Login (referred to as Federated Login by LastPass) enabled for Vault access. LastPass Enterprise users still leveraging a Master Password are able to convert to NetID Login. Follow the steps documented here if you'd like to convert: LastPass - Converting to NetID Login

To login, click the LastPass browser extension icon, enter your NetID@wisc.edu email address, then click the Login button.

Please Note: If you have just activated your LastPass Enterprise account, it may take up to 60 minutes for your account to sync to NetID login. Additionally, it recommended that you restart your browser session before attempting to login.

Limitations of Net ID Login

  • NetID Login will not eliminate the need to know your NetID login credentials for other systems/tools/applications i.e. you can’t try to use an un-memorizable password for your NetID.
