Professionals skilled in cross-cultural counseling are available to meet the needs of international students; students of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds; and gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students. Services include workshops, groups, individual and couple counseling and departmental consultation. At C&CS, there are counselors, social workers, psychologists and advanced graduate students representing various ethnic backgrounds.
Services are confidential, and any enrolled UW undergraduate or graduate student is eligible. There is no charge to students for counseling sessions, because the services are paid through tuition and fees.
Translation services are available (AT&T Language Line) to help translate medical information and questions for patients.
