Tips and Tricks to Avoiding Classroom / Remote Instruction Glitches

How to avoid remote instruction glitches and issues.
Split in the three sections -- instructors, both and students like the internet one

Here are some tips and tricks to minimize remote instruction problems.

  • Reboot your computer prior to class. This ensures that your system is running smoothly and helps ensure that stray applications that you will not be using during class are closed. (If you have a Mac, make sure to tell it to not reopen the applications on boot.)
  • Run only the applications that you need. Extra applications take up system resources that may be needed in order to ensure the smooth operation of your computer.
  • Have the best network connection available. Remote instruction hinges on your ability to communicate over the internet. Ensure that you have the best tools available to engage with your students.
  • When you start a video call, you’ll see the video preview -- double check the video to ensure everything looks good.
