University Communications is the university's central news and information office, offering a range of services aimed at telling the university's story. The office is responsible for news, media relations, issues management, social media, video and photography, along with On Wisconsin magazine.

As the public information office for UW-Madison, UC responding to all media inquiries and guides media relations by publicizing university activities, personnel and programs. Also publishes university periodicals, including Inside UW-Madison (e-newsletter for faculty and staff), The Weekly (students), and On Wisconsin (alumni), and maintains a number of social media platforms and websites. Produces university video content and still photography to support institutional priorities and projects. Also publishes an online Experts List at Sells photos of campus. 

The office also maintains a robust variety of social media platforms, including on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and Pinterest. 

Provides information to hometown newspapers for all students who are on the Deans List, receive special honors and who are graduating. Information is automatically sent to newspapers that are in the city/town of the students permanent address listed in EASI (matched up by zip code). The newspapers then decide what to do with this information -- some publish it, some don't. Contact University Communication's Hometown News Editor at 262-2650 for further information.
