InterPro - Online Learning - Enable Third Party Cookies

This document provides instructions on enabling third party cookies to allow Box content in Canvas

If you are having trouble viewing course materials in an InterPro course, you may need to adjust your browser's settings to enable third party cookies.

Enable Third-Party Cookies in Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Google Chrome.
  2. From the top right, select the three vertical dots and then Settings.
  3. This will open a web page, Settings.
  4. On the left hand navigation bar, select Privacy and Security and then Site Settings.
  5. On the Site Settings page, select Cookies and Site Data.
  6. On the Cookies and Site Data page, make sure that the Block third-party cookies setting is toggled off.

Advanced:

If you would like to set the course learning management system to use cookies, but not allow third party cookies on other sites

  1. On the Cookies and Site Data page, scroll to Sites that can always use cookies
  2. Select add
  3. Enter https://[*.]canvas.wisc.edu:443 in the field
  4. Check include third party cookies on this site
  5. Select add to add the exception.

Enable Third Party Cookies in Edge

Note: Only the Chromium version of Edge is compatible with Canvas and Blackboard Collaborate Ultra

  1. On your computer, open Microsoft Edge
  2. In the top right corner, select the ellipses ... and then select Settings
  3. A pop out menu will appear from the right, select Cookies & Site Permissions.
  4. In the new page, Manage and delete cookies and site data
  5. Make sure Block third-party cookies is toggled to off

Advanced:

If you would like to set the course learning management system to use cookies, but not allow third party cookies on other sites

  1. On the Cookies and data stored page, scroll to Allow
  2. Select add
  3. Enter https://[*.]canvas.wisc.edu:443 in the field
  4. Check include third party cookies on this site
  5. Select add to add the exception.

Enable Third Party Cookies in Firefox

  1. On your computer, open Firefox
  2. Select the three horizontal lines in the top right corner, and select Preferences.
  3. In the left hand menu, select Privacy & Security.
  4. On the Browser Privacy page, select the Custom drop down menu. Make sure that the checkbox next to Cookies is unchecked.
